The Yuchi people referred to themselves as Tsoyahá, meaning "children of the sun." The Shawnee called them Tahokale, and the Cherokee referred to them as Aniyutsi. The report was shared by Michael Zhang of Peta and titled "Wildlife Photographer Captures Ultra-Rare All Black Penguin" on Nov 19, 2024.
Zang's report further shares that "a fellow photographer spotted the unusual bird while exploring the area. Adams, leading an expedition as a tour guide, quickly moved to the beach to photograph the King Penguin alone before others joined it in its large colony. The penguin was entirely Black, missing its species' typical white belly and yellow patches. "It's one out of a colony of hundreds of thousands of penguins with this color variation," Adams explains. "I tried to follow the bird as it emerged from the surf onto the beach. I knew I had limited time to photograph it before it reached the colony, as you don't want to disturb them when they're together.
