OCEAN TOWNSHIP NJ -- A New Jersey mother is seeking answers after discovering an issue with her 2-year-old daughter following her time at Growing Kids Academy Day Care, located at 1119 NJ-35, Ocean Township, NJ 07712. What is a Cornrow?
In black hair care, a cornrow is a type of braid where the hair is braided tightly against the scalp in rows, forming a flat, raised braid resembling rows of corn native to North America. In the Caribbean, this style is called "Canerow," reflecting the sugar cane grown there. The tradition of braiding natural Afro-American hair dates back to ancient Egypt in Africa and the ancient Etruscans in pre-Roman Italy, known as Etruria.

The mother provided photos to Eyewitness News showing the missing section of her daughter's hair, which was distressing as it indicated the entire cornrow had been pulled from her scalp, likely causing pain. However, the daycare claims no evidence of a braid being removed from the little girl's scalp. Eyewitness News spoke exclusively with the mother, who is now pursuing legal action against the daycare. Community in Mourning: Millville Fire Leaves Two Children Missing

MILLVILLE N.J. The Millville community is reeling from a devastating fire that broke out on Wednesday night, leaving many heartbroken and concerned. Multiple reports indicate that two children are missing following the destruction of several homes in the area.
Firefighters rushed to the 300 block of South 4th Street around 11 P.M. to confront the fierce flames engulfing two homes. Millville Fire Chief John Wettstein shared per a report by Megan VerHelst on April 10, 2025, titled 2 Kids Missing After Fire Tears Through Several Millville Homes: Reports the severity of the situation, highlighting how quickly the fire spread to two additional buildings. CBS New Jersey further reported that six homes, including two duplexes, were affected.
The struggle to bring the fire under control lasted nearly six hours, a brutal battle that was captured on video as crews worked tirelessly against the relentless flames. Tragically, a gas line broke during the incident, intensifying the fire and complicating the response efforts.
Our hearts go out to the families impacted by this tragedy, especially as the search continues for the two missing children. The community stands united, hoping for their safe return and supporting those affected by this heartbreaking event. Suspect Arrested After Threatening Schools
And Wielding Knife On N.J. Bus

MAYS LANDING, NJ — Per a report shared by Veronica Flesher of the Middletown Patch on April 10, 2025, titled: "Knife-Wielding Man Caught After Threatening South Jersey Schools: Cops," an Egg Harbor Township man was charged after making threats to Hamilton Township schools and later wielding a knife on an N.J. Transit bus, according to police. The Township of Hamilton Police Department stated that Herbert L. Myers contacted police on Wednesday with threats directed at schools in Mays Landing. Nearby schools were alerted and heightened security measures were implemented. Police quickly identified Myers, a Black male aged 42, as the suspect.
According to court records, Myers, named after his father, was released from prison on August 1, 2023, after serving a sentence for theft. Officials reported that he was located on a bus in Vineland and displayed a knife when approached by police. All bus passengers, the driver, and police officers evacuated the bus safely. The vicinity of Landis Avenue and Main Road was closed while Vineland police assisted in apprehending Myers, police reported.
What can contribute to a person acting out in such a dangerous & suicidal manner?
Making terrorist threats against a school often stems from a combination of emotional and psychological factors. Personal issues, such as very low self-esteem or family problems, can lead individuals to take extreme measures. Some people seek attention or validation, thinking that such threats will attract public attention. Fear or paranoia might prompt irrational behavior, while anger or a desire for revenge can motivate threats against perceived wrongs. Mental health issues, including anxiety or personality disorders, may also contribute by impacting impulse control and the ability to grasp consequences.
Myers faces charges of false public alarms and terroristic threats and is currently held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing. Further charges are pending additional investigation, according to police. To learn more, please click the links:

Navigating Tensions: The Upcoming US-Iran Nuclear
Talks and Their Implications
US IRAN NEGOTIATIONS -- According to a comprehensive report by the BBC's Rafi Berg, published on April 10, 2025, titled "What is Iran's Nuclear Programme and What Does The US Want?", the United States and Iran are poised to engage in their first substantive discussions in several years this coming Saturday. These talks aim to establish a new framework for an agreement concerning Iran's highly contentious nuclear program, which has been a focal point of international tension and diplomacy for over a decade.
What is a political negotiation?:
Political negotiations refer to the discussions and bargaining processes that take place between individuals, groups, or countries to resolve conflicts, reach agreements, or settle disputes. These negotiations can involve a wide range of topics, including legislation, treaties, policy decisions, and diplomatic relations. The goal is often to find a mutually acceptable compromise that addresses the interests and concerns of the parties involved. Effective political negotiations require skills in communication, persuasion, and understanding differing perspectives, and they often take place within a context of power dynamics and strategic interests.
The backdrop to this renewed dialogue is steeped in historical context. In 2018, former President Donald Trump made a decisive move by withdrawing the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). This landmark nuclear deal had been negotiated between Iran and a coalition of global powers, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, and Russia. This withdrawal was accompanied by the reimposition of stringent economic sanctions against Iran, a move that incited widespread anger and resentment within the Iranian government and among its populace. The sanctions severely impacted Iran's economy, leading to increased inflation and declining living standards.
In the wake of these developments, Trump issued stark warnings, threatening military action should the negotiations falter or if Iran were perceived to be advancing its nuclear capabilities. These threats have added a layer of urgency and tension to the upcoming discussions as both sides seek to navigate a complex landscape of mistrust and geopolitical maneuvering.

"Why is Iran prohibited from having nuclear weapons?"
Iran asserts that its nuclear program is exclusively aimed at civilian applications, including the generation of electricity and medical research. The Iranian government maintains that it is not pursuing the development of nuclear weapons, a claim that it has reiterated on multiple occasions. However, this assertion is met with skepticism by many countries worldwide and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which serves as the global watchdog for nuclear proliferation. Concerns regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions began to escalate significantly in 2002 when secret nuclear facilities were uncovered within the country. This revelation raised alarms internationally and was perceived as a violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), a critical agreement that Iran, along with nearly every other nation, has signed. The NPT is designed to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons while promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy. It allows countries to harness nuclear technology for non-military purposes, such as advancements in medicine, agricultural development, and energy production. Still, it explicitly prohibits the growth and proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The implications of Iran's nuclear program extend beyond its borders, affecting regional stability in the Middle East and prompting concerns among neighboring countries, particularly Israel and Saudi Arabia, who fear that a nuclear-armed Iran could shift the balance of power in the region. As the discussions between the United States and Iran approach, the world watches closely, hoping for a resolution that could lead to better stability and security in an area that has been fraught with conflict and tension for decades.
