Per a report shared by The Hill eNewspaper by Lauren Irwin on 09/22/24 titled "Harris slightly improves lead over Trump in battleground states: Poll." According to a new CBS News and YouGov survey, Vice President Harris has increased her lead over former President Donald Trump in battleground states. The poll found that Harris has 51 percent support compared to Trump's 49 percent in battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The race for the presidency is heating up as the campaigns intensify their efforts to sway voters in swing states. Recent polls have thrown North Carolina and Georgia into the spotlight, now being considered as toss-ups. Harris continues to lead nationally with a 52% support, compared to Trump's 48%. Notably, Harris has made significant strides in narrowing the gap on economic issues, reducing Trump's lead from 13 to 6 points.

Furthermore, the survey indicates that more voters are now likely to perceive the economy as performing well compared to August. CBS has pointed out that Harris's strong debate performance, widely regarded as a victory, has played a crucial role in solidifying support among previous Biden voters who may have been undecided about the vice president.

Why is it important to be likable?

A politician needs to be likable because a positive public image can help them gain the support and trust of voters. Being likable can make it easier for politicians to connect with the public, rally support for their policies, and build alliances with other politicians. Additionally, a likable politician may be perceived as approachable and relatable, making constituents more willing to engage with and vote for them. Ultimately, being likable can enhance a politician's ability to communicate their message and influence public opinion effectively.
